One can almost feel the heat rising from the western desert, as the great pyramids shimmer in the evening light on the outskirts of Cairo. The Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops at Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid, also visible are the pyramids of Khafre or Chephren and of Menkaure or Mykerinos. Seen to the left of the oasis palms are two figures one of which is astride a camel. An exquisitely composed painting by the hand of Catano. |
