Since 1763 the name 'Russborough' has been synonymous with collecting and dealing in fine art. In the closing decades of the last century the historic town of Port Hope has become home to Lord Russborough's Annex, which specialises in an individual mix of antique maps, paintings and prints.

While Lord Russborough's Annex features a great many works of museum calibre, we also offer a wonderful selection of prints priced at under $100.

The Roman victory column of Marcus Aurelius, commemorating his victory over the barbarian Germans and Sarmatians at the Danube river. The Doric order column with spiral bas-relief panels, which stands in Rome's Piazza Colonna, was erected AD 180-193 and modelled upon that of Trajan. The column was restored in 1588 and was surmounted by a bronze statue of St. Paul. The column is 97ft. high set upon a 33ft. base for a total of 139 ft (39.7 meters). Five slits illuminate the interior 200 step stairway. The image is a reproduction of the large folding broadsheet etching by Francesco Piranesi, published in Rome 1776 now in the collection of the Royal Academy, London.
